Calysta is commercializing FeedKind® protein for aquaculture, livestock and pets. In 2016, Calysta partnered with Cargill for production of FeedKind protein in North America and entered into a global joint marketing agreement. Construction has begun on a commercial scale FeedKind manufacturing facility in Memphis, Tennessee through NouriTech™, a venture formed in 2016 through investments from Cargill, Calysta and several third party investors.  The plant will be the world’s largest gas fermentation facility, and  is expected to produce up to 200,000 metric tons per year when operating at full capacity.

The company established its first Market Introduction Facility in 2016 to generate contemporary samples and support customer adoption for FeedKind protein at the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) at Teesside, in northeast England. Calysta received an Exceptional Regional Growth Fund (eGRF) award from the government of the United Kingdom of up £2.8 million.
