Associate Corporate Development

Location:

Responsible for:
Financial modeling and market analysis in support of a global business development and sales strategy

Job Description:

  • Support business development efforts via analysis of global development opportunities including financial analysis, market analysis, industry research, and partner identification
  • Create detailed financial models to support fundraising, licensing, plant construction, and market entry
  • Play a key role on cross-functional teams that include senior members of Calysta’s sales and marketing, engineering, and legal teams
  • Research and analyze industries, countries, companies and business models
  • Perform a broad range of financial and strategic analyses
  • Support CFO with financial planning and analysis, as required

Skills, Knowledge and Special Attributes Needed for this Position:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or venture capital
  • Strong history of accounting, corporate finance and valuation experience; licensing experience is a plus
  • Excellent communications skills with an ability to summarize key takeaways for senior management
  • Highly proactive with an ability to work both independently and as part of the team
  • Extraordinary focus on details, accuracy and quality, but also understand the bigger picture
  • Superior analytical and modeling skills (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A degree in biology or science and/or experience in biotech or ag-tech are a plus

Research Assistant

Calysta is facing a very exciting time with increased activity and the establishment of our FeedKind Market Introduction Facility at the Wilton Centre, Teesside. We seek a fermentation specialist that will contribute to our team in order to further develop the Calysta technology platform. It is ex-pected that you will be a structured individual, and will have good analytical capabilities, be confi-dent, flexible and proactive.

Calysta will be hiring one Research Assistant for our team, with expertise in:

  • Microbial fermentation
  • Chemical and biological analytics

The candidate will have chemical or biological background and experience with microbial fermen-tation, sample extraction and analysis using a variety of different methods and tools. The role will require a B.Sc. in fermentation, chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology or related field, with experience of handling fermentation processes and associated analytics. The candidate must be able to work both independently and within a small team environment. It will also during production campaigns be necessary to work outside normal working hours.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Sc. chemistry, microbial fermentation, or molecular biology with a focus on analytics of microbial fermentations

We seek two Research Assistants that will contribute to our team in order to further develop the Calysta fermentation technology plat-form. It is expected that you will be a structured individual, and will have good scientific and ana-lytical capabilities, be confident, flexible and proactive. Calysta will be hiring two Research Assistants for the fermentation lab, with expertise in:

      • Microbial fermentation

The candidate will have biological background and experience with microbial fermentation, sample extraction and analysis using a variety of different methods and tools. The job holder will also be responsible for fermentation equipment maintenance and assay execution, as well as data analysis, and results interpretation. The role will require minimum of a BSc in Fermentation/Microbiology, or biology or related field, with hands-on experience of handling fermentation processes and equipment. The candidate must be able to work both independently and within a small team envi-ronment. It will also during production campaigns be necessary to work outside normal working hours. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for running and maintenance of laboratory scale fermentation equipment
  • Develop fermentation procedures and protocols for day to day activities.
  • Helping to design experiments to fermentation specialists, analysing and interpreting data.
  • Able to analyse fermentation samples using microbiological and analytical techniques such as plating, cell counts and knowledge in analytical techniques such as HPLC is a plus.
  • In cooperation with colleagues, to develop and find new solutions for improved fermentation processes.
  • Trouble shooting of fermentation processes
  • Other duties assigned by the management

Qualifications:

  • Education: BSc/MSc  microbial fermentation, or microbiology with a focus on development of microbial fermentations
  • Experience: At least 2 years hands- on experience within fermentation ideally in an industrial setting or academic background with experience will be considered.

Abilities:

  • Experience in working with various fermentation modes including batch, fed-batch continuous with strong understanding of microbial physiology
  • Experience with process equipment and lab scale processing issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
  • Ability to be adapt in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Experience working in a collaborative  and team-oriented environment
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Willing to work outside normal working hours when is required.
